A Schuyler County man faces charges in neighboring Chemung County after police investigated a suspicious vehicle complaint at a home on Mallory Hill Road in the town of Veteran.
Police determined that a number of guns and other property were stolen from the residence. An investigation led to a search warrant being executed at a home in Horseheads where several guns were recovered along with cash and jewelry.
26-year-old Shawn Mitstifer, of Cayuta, was arrested for burglary and was sent to Chemung County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
