State Police have released the name of the driver involved in a fatal accident over the weekend in Wayne County.
32-year-old Alexander Ray, of Columbus, Ohio, died after allegedly taking off during a traffic stop for speeding on Ridge Road in Williamson Saturday afternoon. Police say as they were interviewing Ray, he sped off before his car left the road, struck a parked car, a shed, and finally a residence.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Williamson, and Ontario Fire Departments, Wayne County Advanced Life Support, and Williamson Ambulance responded to the scene. The Office of the New York State Attorney General responded to the scene.
The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation is continuing the investigation.
