Penn Yan Man Faces Multiple Charges after Striking Utility Pole Friday Night

A Penn Yan man faces multiple charges after striking a utility pole in the Town of Jerusalem Friday night.

According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Timothy Morich was driving in the area of Italy Friend Road and Belknap Hill Road around 11:00p when he failed to stop at a stop sign, went through the intersection, and struck a utility pole, causing his vehicle to come to rest into a ditch.

After field sobriety testing, Morich was taken to Yates County Jail for a chemical test and to be held for arraignment.

He faces the charges of Aggravated DWI, DWI, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, and Speed Not Reasonable or Prudent.
