An Ontario County man arrested last week for allegedly sexually abusing a six-year-old last June is now facing federal charges of production, receipt, distribution, and possession of child pornography.
36-year-old Eric Passalacqua is accused of exchanging child pornography with a person in Anchorage, Alaska. A week ago, investigators executed a search warrant at Passalacqua’s home in Phelps and a number of images of child pornography, including images the suspect produced of a minor victim, were allegedly found on his mobile device.
If convicted, Passalacqua faces 15 to 30 years of prison and life on parole.
Passalacqua made an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Marian W. Payson and is being held.
The criminal complaint is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Acting Special Agent-in-Charge Darren Cox and the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, under the direction of Sheriff David Cirencione.
