Help is on the way for New Yorkers struggling with their utility bills.
Governor Kathy Hochul announced that over half a million residents and small businesses will be able to receive assistance with their past due utility bills. The debt forgiveness program will provide relief for customer burdened by utility debt acquired during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The total cost of assistance is valued at 672-million dollars
