    Very cold wind chills as low as 15 to 25 below expected.

    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 15 to 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Actual air temperature will be below zero each night through Sunday morning. The prolonged cold could cause pipes to freeze or burst. Daytime high temperatures will climb above zero with afternoon highs of 5 to 15 degrees above zero.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

JoAnn Kreutziger Champlin, of Penn Yan, N.Y., passed away on Saturday (December 24, 2022).

JoAnn was born on January 26, 1935 in Penn Yan, N.Y. to Carl and Dora Kreutziger.

JoAnn worked many years at Hendersons Drug Store. She and her late husband, Keith Champlin, were past owners of the Valley Inn restaurant with Fred and Loretta Hopkins in Guyanoga, N.Y.

She and her husband were avid motorcyclists and proud Honda Goldwing owners. They traveled on their motorcycle around the Finger Lakes, to Lake George, New England, and even going as far as Oklahoma. JoAnn enjoyed reading, playing cards, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

JoAnn was predeceased by her husband, Keith Champlin; and her stepson, Blake (Roxanne) Champlin.

JoAnn is survived by her son, Scott (Andrea) McElwee; and stepsons, Brad (Cindy) Champlin and Brian (Kate) Champlin; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours or service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
