Don DeSio, 80, passed away peacefully at his home, Thursday (January 10, 2019).
Friends and family are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday (January 14) at Mull Funeral Home, 113 N. Virginia Street, Waterloo. A memorial service will follow at 7 at the funeral home. Burial, with full Military Honors, will be in Sampson’s Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Romulus in Spring.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
Don was born October 27, 1938 in Waterloo, the son of the late Marco F. and Florence M. (Maloney) DeSio. He was a 1956 graduate of Waterloo High School. He served in the United States Army from 1963 – 1967 earning the rank of SP4 E4.He worked beside his father and brother as a barber at DeSio’s Barber Shop in Waterloo for 45 years. Don, “The Captain,” also, chartered a fishing boat on Seneca Lake for 49 years. He enjoyed fishing, bowling (winning the Peterson Classic in Chicago), conversing with his family and friends and was an avid Yankees and Bills fan.
He is survived by his daughters Michelle, Mary Ann and Marcey DeSio; a brother, Ed DeSio; the mother of his daughters, Judy (Frank) All; several cousins.
