Elizabeth A. “Betty” Churchill, 85, formerly of State St., Seneca Falls, N.Y., passed away on Friday (January 4, 2019) at Huntington Living Center, Waterloo, N.Y.
At Betty’s request, she was anatomically donated to science. Her funeral services and burial, in St. Columbkille Cemetery, will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no prior calling hours.

Betty was born in Seneca Falls, N.Y. on October 8, 1933 the daughter of the late James G. and Grace E. (Belmore) VanHouten. She was a life resident of Seneca Falls. Betty was retired from the former Taylor-Brown Hospital in Waterloo where she was a Respiratory Therapist. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls and a former member of the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge Auxillary. Betty had enjoyed the 20 years that she spent in Florida during the winter months.
She is survived by son, Steven H. (Carolyn) Gleason of Seneca Falls, N.Y.; grandson, Patrick (Josephine) Churchill; great-granddaughter, Madeline Churchill; sister, Ruth (Peter) Same of Seneca Falls, N.Y.; step-son, Stephen (Valerie) Churchill of Seneca Falls, N.Y.; several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, John and her son, Gregory who both died in 2009; her daughter, Juneil Churchill who died in 1985; her bother, James VanHouten who died in 2005; and her sister, Roberta M. Lockwood.
