Voters today will decide if the Auburn School District can go ahead with the largest capital project in the district’s history.
Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo said on last week’s Finger Lakes Morning News the $43.7 Million proposal will improve security and health concerns at the schools in the district, while keeping a close eye on the cost.
He cites the need to replace the roof of Owasco Elementary as one example of the need for the capital plan to keep the tax hike to under 2 percent.
Pirozzolo said if the plan is approved, it could take 8 to 10 years to complete all of the planned upgrades.
The polls at Seward and Casey Park Elementary Schools will be open until 9 tonight.
