Michael Anthony Petrus, 80, of Glasgow St. died Saturday (December 29, 2018) at his home.
Friends may call Thursday (January 3, 2019) 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pusateri – Canolesio Funeral Home, 68 Sodus St., Clyde. Funeral Mass will be on January 4, at 10: 30 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker (St. John’s) Clyde. Military rites at St. John’s mausoleum.

Mike was born in Lyons, December 2, 1938, son of Michael and Anna DeVito Petrus. Mike served 20 years active duty including tours in Vietnam and Korea. He retired from the Army with rank of major in 1980. He returned to Clyde where he owned and operated the Clyde Wine & Spirit Shop. Mike went on to complete his Master of Business Administration at SUNY Oswego. He held several positions in education, including school to work coordinator at Newark High School, Director Grants and Special Projects at Marcus Whitman High School, and President of the Board of Education for the Clyde – Savannah Central School District. Mike retired in 2002 and enjoyed extensive travel with his wife and granddaughters.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angela (Salerno) Petrus of 57 years; daughter, Karen (Petrus) Astarita; son-in-law, Anthony Astarita; granddaughters Megan and Emily; brother, Frank Petrus.
