Yates County Public Health also says the ban includes chewing tobacco, but does not include nicotine patches or gum.
They’re offering several resources for those who want to quit tobacco products.
Yates County-Owned Properties go Tobacco-Vaping Free
Substances included in Local Law #1-18 are as follows:
– No tobacco use from cigarettes, cigars, chew, or pipes
-No liquid nicotine in E-cigarettes/vaping, JUULS, or any other nicotine-delivery devices
-Local Law #1-18 does not require anyone who uses tobacco products to quit; however, using these products is not allowed on County properties. Also, the law does not prohibit products like nicotine patches, gum, lozenges, or nasal spray that are prescribed treatments for nicotine cessation purposes.

Also please note, the First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, and the Penn Yan Public Library, all neighbors of Yates County-owned property, have tobacco-free policies of their own on their premises. Tobacco/vaping use is prohibited on any of these properties & parking areas, as well.
