An Auburn man faces multiple charges after dragging and striking a State Trooper with his vehicle.
31-year old Shaun Clark was stopped by Troopers assigned to the “Syracuse Initiative” on Tuesday night. He attempted to flee the downtown parking lot in his pickup after dragging Trooper Andrew Skerpon and then pinning him between the pickup and his patrol car.
Trooper Skerpon, another trooper and Syracuse police officers pursued Clark until he crashed into a fence on Niagara Street and fled on foot. They were able to arrest Clark after a struggle.
Trooper Skerpon was later treated for minor injuries. Clark was transported Upstate University Hospital, where he was treated for injuries sustained during his arrest.
He was booked into the Onondaga County Justice Center on charges including assaulting a police officer, fleeing a police officer, reckless endangerment and resisting arrest.
