Last chance to sign up for the Salesmanship Merit Badge presented in collaboration with the Amerks. In addition to the merit badge sessions, Scouts get to attend the Amerks’ game. Only $45 per Scout for the 3-sessions including a ticket to each game. Meeting/game dates are Dec. 14, Jan 11, and Feb.8.

Be sure to save the date of Jan 18-21, 2019 for the Arctic Challenge at Massawepie Scout Camp. Over Martin Luther King Weekend Scouts can camp in the cold in a Lean-to, or work their way toward that goal, by staying in Gannett Lodge. Gannett has limited space, so register early. Be sure to check out all the winter themed activities too!

BSA Lifeguard Course
Starting January 28, 2019
The next BSA Lifeguard course will be starting on Jan 28th, 2019 at the Brockport High School! This mandatory 9-10 training sessions is set for those scouts (16 year of age) and adults who are interested in helping their units program. Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)
IOLS is a hands-on program that gives adult leaders the practical skills to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. The skills taught will introduce adult Boy Scout leaders with instruction and practice for teaching the outdoor skills associated with Tenderfoot through First Class ranks. We hold this course outdoors to help reinforce the “outdoor” experience that you will bring back to your boys and troop. This is recommended for all registered Boy Scout leaders, second-year Webelos leaders, and troop committee members, as well as program and training committee chairs. However It is required for Scoutmasters & Asst. Scoutmasters to be classified as “TRAINED”. Space is limited register before the course is filled!
Youth Protection Training is required for all adult leaders for Packs, Troops, Crews, Ships, and Explorer Posts. You may take the training online at my.scouting.org or in-person at the Council Service Center on any of the dates listed above. These in-person training sessions at the council office offer participants the opportunities to ask questions.

Assistant Camp Ranger:Seneca Waterways Council is hiring for two part-time assistant rangers to join our ranger team at J. Warren Cutler Scout Reservation. Program Aidesfor the City Scouting Outreach program – part time position. The Council is seeking high energy, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individuals to help deliver the in-school Scouting program in the City of Rochester. Candidates should be available mostly between 2:30pm – 5:30pm. Morning and Saturday hours are available as well. Contract position through July 5, 2019.
