The Cayuga County legislature’s Ways and Means Committee on Tuesday gave unanimous approval to a request from Cayuga Community College for more than $6 Million in capital projects.
CCC President Brian Durant said last week the funding will be used to improve infrastructure, increase child care services at the college and fund $2.4 Million for improvements to the Cornell Cooperative Extension building in Auburn, which was recently gifted to the school.
The full legislature could vote on the proposal when it meets on Thursday at 6:00 pm.
If they vote yes, the plan will be included in the SUNY system’s funding request in Gov. Cuomo’s 2019 executive budget.
