Peg was also part of the original Greater Pine Island Civic Association. She had been a staunch supporter of the Calusa Land Trust. Her work on the Island earned her the Al Mills “Citizen of the Year” award and she was nominated for countywide recognition for her unwavering support and hard work for Pine Island and its residents.
Peg is survived by her children Mary Jo (Richard) Roane, Tom (Lori) McGrain, Dan (Leslie) McGrain and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
