-Dorothy DeNering, 88, died Saturday (December 1, 2018) at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday (December 6) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark where a funeral service will follow the calling hours. Burial will be in the East Palmyra Cemetery.
Memorials, in her name, may be made to a charity of your choice.
Dorothy was born in Newark on June 14, 1930, the daughter of the late Roy and Bertha Fisher Hoad. She was a graduate of Newark High School, Class of 1947. Dorothy attended the First United Methodist Church in Newark. She had been teller at the Lincoln First and Chase Lincoln Bank in Newark for 40 years.. At one time, she had been a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her two sons Michael of Newark and Steven (Mary) of Canandaigua; a grandson, Michah (Christine) of Spencerport and great-granddaughter, Madelyn.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Roger DeNering in 1989; brothers Roger and Vincent Hoad; a sister Arlene Impson; and a special friend Robert Miles.
