|The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff reports a two car personal injury automobile crash on Knickerbocker Road in the Town of Ontario sending one female and one male to the hospital.
Louis Dudley, age 38 of 6426 Peoples Road in the Town of Sodus, was traveling eastbound on Kenyon Road in Ontario. Dudley proceeded into the intersection of Kenyon and Knickerbocker Road where Susanne U. Miedlich, age 49 was approaching the same intersection traveling northbound on Knickerbocker Road. The two vehicles crashed in the intersection which resulted in the vehicle being operated by Dudley to overturn and strike a Rochester Gas and Electric utility pole located at the intersection. Deputies responded and observed Dudley outside of his vehicle while Miedlich was still inside of her vehicle unable to get out.
Miedlich was immediately extricated from her vehicle and both Dudley and Miedlich were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital. Dudley and Miedlich are currently being treated at Strong Memorial Hospital for non life threatening injuries as a result of the crash.
Deputies determined that Dudley had failed to stop at the stop sign posted at the intersection and also failed to yield right of way at the intersection. Dudley was cited for failure to yield and failure to stop at a stop sign at the sign following investigation at the scene.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Union Hill Ambulance, Ontario Ambulance, Wayne County ALS and Ontario Fire.
