The daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Blumrick) Vail, Karen graduated from Mount Carmel High School and went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Karen worked at Mercy Hospital and Seneca Falls Hospital and later provided private duty care. Later in life, Karen was a nanny for several very special children. Karen enjoyed growing beautiful roses and gardening with Dick and always enjoyed a good political debate. What Karen enjoyed most of all, however, was spending time with her four grandchildren.
Karen is survived by her husband, Richard (Dick) Burcroff; children Chris (Mike) Moulton, David (Karen) Burcroff, and Joanne (Shawn Nolan) Burcroff; grandchildren Drew and Dylan Nolan and Casey and Kierstin Burcroff; and siblings Edward (Judy) Vail, Anne (Bill) Ganey, and Sue (Marco) D’Eredita; special cousins Jimmy and Ann Dunnigan; a special goddaughter, P.J. Owens; as well as many in-laws, nieces and great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews, and cousins.
Karen was predeceased by her parents and very special aunts Dorothy Dunnigan, Mitzi Welch and Margaret Vail.
