The Cayuga County Water and Sewer Authority’s Regional Master Plan has reached a major milestone with the completion of Municipal Operations Efficiency and Capital Improvement Plans for nine communities in the county.
Authority Director Jeanine Wilson tells Finger Lakes News Radio each report identifies deficiencies and focuses on maximizing public benefit while maintaining reasonable costs.
She adds the reports are just one step in a process that could take two decades to complete.
Greg Mosure of Barton & Loguidice, technical consultant on the Regional Master Plan, says the reports for the Village of Cayuga, the Town of Aurelius, the Village of Fair Haven, the Village of Cato, the Village of Moravia, the Village of Meridian, the Village of Weedsport, the Town of Brutus and the Village of Union Springs “provide each community with an individualized assessment and set of recommendations to address deficiencies in their water and sewer systems without losing sight of the bigger, regional picture.”
Wilson says the draft master plan will be released by mid-December, after the Citizen Advisory Panel holds an open meeting on December 6 in the City Council Chambers at Auburn Memorial City Hall.
