Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb was unanimously re-elected as Leader of the Republican Conference Tuesday.
Kolb was first elected to the Assembly in 2000 and has served as Minority Leader since 2009, making him the longest-tenured legislative leader in Albany. In a statement, Kolb said “It is a profound honor to have the trust and support of my colleagues in the Assembly Minority Conference, and I’m excited to work alongside them as Minority Leader. Kolb is the only legislative leader representing Upstate New York.
This fall, Assembly Republicans grew their conference despite sweeping victories by Democrats in state and federal elections. Nine new members will join the Assembly Minority Conference in January.
