The Cayuga County Legislature will hold a public hearing on the proposed $150 Million County budget at 5:30 pm on Tuesday evening.
The Legislature last week approved the spending plan that includes a 2.4% tax increase. Legislature Chair Pat Mahunik tells Finger Lakes News Radio they trimmed some fat from the budget originally proposed by county administrator J. Justin Woods.
The legislature will hold a special meeting following the hearing and could either give final approval or table a vote until next month to make further changes.
The tentative budget would become the final budget if a revised plan can not be agreed upon before the state mandated deadline at the end of the calendar year.
