An investigation into three separate incidents at the Victor Walmart store has resulted in the arrest of a 54 year old Pittsford woman on grand larceny and two counts of burglary.
On November 6th, Sarah Byrne allegedly took items off the shelf inside the store and then returned the items for cash using old receipts that matched the items she selected. On the same day, Bryne allegedly took possession of a purse that did not belong to her after a store clerk asked if it was her’s. Ten days later, Byrne returned to Walmart and chose items that she unsuccessfully attempted to return with an old receipt, but left the store after being denied. Byrne was charged with burglary for both days she entered the store due to previously being banned from all Walmart’s. The grand larceny charge stems from stealing the purse which contained a credit card.
Byrne was sent to Ontario County Jail in lieu of bail.
Byrne also had warrants pending from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Brighton Police Department at the time of her arrest.
