When a Syracuse man left Cayuga County Court, he was labeled a registered sex offender. The Citizen reports 41-year-old Jacob Gerros was in court on Tuesday, and was declared a Level 2 sex offender by the judge.
In May, Gerros pleaded guilty to attempted rape and possession of a sexual performance by a child after admitting that he drove to the town of Aurelius to meet someone he thought was an underage girl for sex. In reality, it was a state trooper.
In court, Cayuga County DA Jon Budelmann described Gerros’ messages with the undercover officer posing as a young girl as “some of the nastiest” he has ever seen.
