The woman accused of helping plan the murder of her ex-boyfriend and his current girlfriend in Sodus last month appeared in court Thursday.
Charlene Childers is charged with conspiracy and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the murders of Joshua Niles and Amber Washburn. Her case will now go to a grand jury. Childers, along with her husband Timothy Dean, and a police officer that works in the same Texas department where Hearn was once chief, are all charged in connection with the murders.
According to court documents, Childers, Dean and Bron Bohlar discussed killing Niles on several occasions and the married couple also rented a car for Dean to drive to New York from Texas to commit the murders. He is accused of pulling the trigger of the gun that killed Niles and Amber Washburn.
Dean and Bohlar remained jailed in Texas pending their extradition to NY. Childers was sent back to Wayne County Jail.
Meanwhile, a gofundme page has been set up to help care for Amber and Josh’s son who has austim. Josh Jr. was in the car at the time of his parents murder. Amber’s parents have custody of Josh Jr. who is non-verbal. Their home is not equipped for a child with these special needs. The family is seeking donations to help with the financial burden. Almost $3,000 was donated yesterday, they hope to raise $8,000.
