Auburn has lost one of its community leaders. 79-year old John ‘Jack’ Bisgrove lost his battle with cancer over the weekend.
The former president and CEO of Red Star Express Lines, the national trucking company founded by his family in 1932, will best be remembered for his philanthropic dedication to the community.
Mr. Bisgrove and his brother Jerry founded the Stardust Foundation of Central New York and he also founded the Locate Finger Lakes Initiative with former State Senator Mike Nozzolio.
Sen. Nozzolio spoke about Mr. Bisgrove’s commitment to keeping young professionals living and working in the region at last week’s economic summit at Emerson Park.
Funeral services for Jack Bisgrove have not been announced.
