The Cayuga County Health Department will host a free vaping and smoking prevention event on Wednesday evening from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm at the Auburn High School auditorium.
Guest speaker Dr. C. Beth Gero is a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist. She will speak to parents, students, school staff, including Auburn Schools Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo, and community members about vaping and tobacco use and their long term health consequences.
Pirozzolo said on Tuesday’s Finger Lakes Morning News officials with other school districts will also be in attendance.
The event cosponsored by the Cayuga County Health Network is in response to concerns raised by parents about the changing trends in smoking among young people.
