The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday night the arrests of two people in connection with the October 22nd shooting deaths of Joshua Niles and his girlfriend Amber Washburn in Sodus.
25 year old Charlene Childers, the mother of two of Joshua Niles’ children, is facing felony charges of conspiracy and criminal possession of a weapon. Her husband, 32 year old Timothy Dean, faces a charge of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder, as well as two counts each of conspiracy and criminal possession of a weapon.
Childers was arrested by Wayne County authorities last week on a warrant out of Texas. Dean, who is in jail in Texas on a similar charge, is in process of being extradited to New York.
Two weeks ago, Niles and Washburn were gunned down in the middle of the day in the driveway of their Sodus home. Their four-year old child was in the backseat of the car at the time. Published reports claim Childers was in a heated custody dispute with Joshua Niles before Niles was murdered. Niles was granted custody of the two children he had with Childers. Those two kids were in school at the time of the murders.
