For the first time since November 1990 , Ontario County Sheriff Phil Povero’s name isn’t on the ballot Tuesday . He is opting to retire after 40 years with the Sheriff’s office. He has spent the last few months preparing things for his successor.
As the opiod crisis continues , Povero says the new Sheriff will have to work with the community to find solutions .
Democrat Kevin Henderson and Republican Silvio Palermo are vying for Povero’s job.
