A well-known New York lobbyist has been charged by federal prosecutors with wire fraud and bribery as part of an investigation that saw Assemblyman Joe Errigo arrested last month on similar charges.
48 year old Robert Gaddy faces up to 20 years in prison and a 250-THOUSAND dollar fine if convicted. He owns and operates the lobbying firm Excelsior Advocates, LLC. According to investigators, at various times the firm maintained lobbying contracts with the Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority and the Rochester City School District.
During an investigation into allegations of fraud and corruption involving a large re-development project in the City of Rochester, the FBI identified potential corrupt acts by Gaddy and various public officials. As a result, special agents began an investigation into the relationship between Gaddy and Assemblyman Errigo, whose Assembly district includes all of Livingston County, southern Monroe County and portions of northern Steuben County.
