Republican Bob Antonacci has injected some humor into the final week of the 50th State Senate District race, casting his mother in her second campaign ad.
The Onondaga County Comptroller is facing Democrat John Mannion in the race to succeed Sen. John DeFrancisco. Antonacci said on Wednesday’s Finger Lakes Morning News his experience as a fiscal watchdog gives him the an edge over his opponent.
Antonacci recently received the endorsement of Albany County Comptroller Michael Conners and Ulster County Comptroller Elliott Auerbach, both Democrats.
Last week, the Mannion campaign released a TV spot that featured the West Genesee high school teacher and his family in a parody of the attack ads that have flooded the airwaves in the final weeks of the campaign.
