There could be a break in the case of a double homicide that happened in the Village of Sodus last week.
A former police chief from a small Texas town is being held on a $1-million bond. News 10 NBC in Rochester reports Texas Rangers say the man is a suspect in a major crime in Sodus, too. 32-year old Timothy Dean, who was arrested early Monday, is charged with one count of injury to a child.
Wayne County Sheriff Deputies yesterday arrested 25 -year old Charlene Childers also on a warrant out of Texas on a charge of injury to a child. Media reports say Dean and Childers are married. She is also being held on a $1-million bond.
Last Monday, Joshua Niles and Amber Washburn were gunned down in the middle of the day in the driveway of their Sodus home. Their four-year old child was in the backseat of the car at the time.
Childers was in a heated custody dispute with Joshua Niles before Niles was murdered. Niles was granted custody of the two children he had with Childers. Those two kids were in school at the time of the murders last week.
Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts says they have no comment on the arrests as they do not want to compromise the ongoing investigation.
