An early Sunday morning domestic dispute at a Franklin Street apartment resulted in the arrest of two Auburn residents.
When officers arrived around 2:30, they heard yelling from inside the building and were met by 29 year old Julius McClary at the top of a stair case. He told police he had been arguing with his girlfriend, 21 year old Cierra Sanders. That’s when Sanders moved quickly towards McClary while holding a knife in her right hand above her head. She allegedly tried to cut McClary, who tried to block her with his hands. An officer grabbed Sanders’ arm and was able to take her to the ground before placing her in custody.
McClary is accused of then grabbing the officer in an attempt to pull him off Sanders. Another officer was able to get a hold of McClary and place him into custody.
Sanders is charged with attempted assault, a felony, along with misdemeanor charges of menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon. McClary was charged with obstructing governmental administration.
