Once again, Yates County Public Health is reporting cases of Lyme disease in the county. Communicable Disease Nurse Jennifer Green says while there are reports of Lyme disease this year, the number is not as great as in 2017.
Usually we talk about ticks in the spring, should we be worried about Lyme disease this time of year?
Jennifer says to protect yourself against ticks, wear insect repellent when outdoors and apply permethrin products to your clothing, boots and outdoors gear. You should also check your pets for ticks behind the ears, arm pits, groin and between the toes.
