Republican State Senate candidate Bob Antonacci on Wednesday received endorsements from two of his Democratic Party colleagues.
The Onondaga County Comptroller is running against West Genesee High School teacher John Mannion to succeed retiring State Senator John DeFrancisco in the 50th District.
Albany County Comptroller Michael Conners and Ulster County Comptroller Elliott Auerbach joined Antonacci in Syracuse to make the announcement that they are supporting their fellow colleague.
Auerbach said the decision was and easy one and was about more than party politics.
Conners used a baseball analogy to describe his career.
Antonacci says their endorsement sends a very powerful signal about what’s at stake in this race. “If the New York City politicians take control of the Senate and our entire state government, New York City will continue to take more and more from us. Instead of getting the fair share we deserve, we’ll get scraps from Albany.”
