Just two days after ground was broken on the turf field project at Falcon Park, Cayuga Community College announced on Wednesday that a new sports team will be using the turf at the new home for Spartans athletics.
In a statement, CCC President Brian Durant said men’s lacrosse will begin play in the spring of 2020. ““This announcement is particularly exciting because our student-athletes playing lacrosse can compete at Falcon Park, which will be the College’s first outdoor athletic complex and features a state-of-the-art synthetic turf field.”
Athletic Director Pete Liddell tells Finger Lakes News Radio it’s an exciting time for the school and students.
He adds they’re not wasting time in getting the program started.
Lidell says there’s currently no timetable, but he expects that women’s lacrosse will be added by 2021.
