Congressman John Katko on Wednesday continued his call for his Democratic opponent to denounce a Central New York activist group.
Speaking outside Lockheed Martin in Salina, where the CNY Solidarity Coalition held a protest last month, Katko slammed Dana Balter for her ties to the progressive group formed after the 2016 election.
He has accused the coalition of being a radical group intent on teaching aggressive tactics to members. The Secret Service is investigating threatening letters sent to his home.
Balter released a statement saying the two-term Republican would rather attack his constituents for exercising their First Amendment rights than stand up for them.
With less than 3 weeks until election day, pundits rate the 24th District race as lean Republican. Real Clear Politics calls it likely GOP.
