Congressman Reed has picked up what many people feel might be the most important endorsement the 23rd Congressional District election. Former Congressman Amo Houghton announced Wednesday he is endorsing Reed for re-election.
“I have watched as Tom has grown serving upstate New York effectively in Congress on the Committee on Ways and Means,” Houghton said in making the endorsement. “He has become a champion for bipartisan government and I appreciate the support he has received from Republicans and Democrats alike. Most importantly, he cares.”
“Amo is revered as someone who sacrificed to be a true public servant whose leadership was marked by unifying people,” Reed observed. “Amo truly represented what the founding fathers had in mind for members of Congress and I am honored to have his support.”
One of the most respected politicians to ever serve from the Southern Tier, Houghton served the Southern Tier in Washington from 1986-2005.
