Last Wednesday, skeletal remains consistent with someone the age of missing 14 month Owen Hidalgo-Calderon were found by the Wayne County Emergency Response Team that was performing a training exercise at the Joy Road farm in Sodus that Owen and his mother were last seen alive at in May. Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts said investigators returned to the site the following day.

The remains have been turned over to the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office. Selena Hidalgo-Calderon, of Guatemala, and her son Owen, were last seen at the Joy Road farm where they lived and worked. Her boyfriend, Alberto Gutierrez-Reyes has been charged with tampering with evidence after it was alleged he moved Selena’s dead body from their home and buried it. He has not been charged in committing her death.
