The New York State Court of Appeals ruled Tuesday that Leticia Astacio be removed as a Rochester City Court Judge.
The decision was 7-0 in favor of her removal. The Court of Appeals heard Astacio’s case in September. Back in April, the Commission on Judicial Conduct decided to remove Astacio from the bench after being placed on probation last summer after she was found guilty of violating the terms of her DWI sentence for the second time. She was convicted of DWI in August 2016.
Astacio continued to receive her 187-THOUSAND dollar annual salary during her appeal. That will end immediately.
