The deadline to register to vote in next month’s election or to change your party affiliation is fast approaching.
Eligible New York residents have until 5:00 p.m. on Friday to register to vote in the Nov. 6 general election for local, state and federal offices. This year’s ballot includes races for governor, attorney general, comptroller and the state Legislature. Voters also will choose members of Congress in all 27 House district races, and a U.S. senator.
Friday is also the deadline to switch party affiliation.
You can register in person at your county’s Board of Elections office, online at the State Department of Motor Vehicles website, or print a form from the State Board of Elections website and mail it no later than Friday to your county Board of Elections office.
