A 30 year old Ithaca man has been arrested following the investigation into an alleged shooting that occurred Saturday night at the homeless encampment known as “The Jungle.”
When officers arrived on scene they spoke with a woman that claimed she and the suspect, Terrence Jones, had gotten into an argument and he threatened to stab her. The woman also claimed Jones discharged a shotgun during their argument. The woman, who was not injured, told police Jones had left the area prior to their arrival. Early Sunday morning, Jones was located inside of a grocery store and was taken into custody. He was charged with burglary, criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies, and menacing.
Following his arraignment, Jones was sent to Tompkins County Jail in lieu of bail.
