The lengthy investigation into the sale and possession of Fentanyl in Seneca County has resulted in the arrested of a 29 year old Seneca Falls woman.
Shannon Markel was initially taken into custody by Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies on felony charges of criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance for allegedly selling a quantity of Fentanyl to another person. When Markel arrived at the Seneca County Jail, it was discovered she was allegedly concealing baggies of Fentanyl. She attempted to conceal one baggie in the rear seat of a patrol car and attempted to swallow another. Markel also attempted to snort the contents of a third baggie.
She was additionally charged with three felony counts of tampering with physical evidence, two felony counts of promoting prison contraband and a misdemeanor charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Markel was being held at county jail on pre-arraignment detention.
