The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office is going pink to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Sheriff Gene Conway has authorized his deputies and correction officers to wear pink badges on their uniforms to show their support for those members of our community who are battling the disease, and to raise awareness about the benefits of early detection.
The badges were purchased by the deputies with a minimum donation of $20 going to support the foundation of their choice
with the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, Inc.
Nearly 300 badges were purchased and distributed for the October 1st kickoff, raising over $4,000.
