The Auburn School board decided on Tuesday night to delay a vote on the proposed $43.5 Million capital project.
The two-phase plan includes infrastructure work along with upgrades to security and air-conditioning for the hottest spots in school buildings.
Board President Kathleen Rhodes explained the reason for the decision.
The board will hold public forums on October 9th and 11th before the vote is held at the October 23 board meeting. Rhodes added next month’s vote is the first step in a lengthy process.
If the board approves the plan residents of the district will vote on the proposal in January.
