It is with great sadness to our family that Gayle Catherine Ottemiller passed away peacefully at the Cottages of Garden Grove in Cicero, N.Y. on March 1, 2018.
Family and friends may call Saturday (September 29, 2018) from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Sanderson-Moore Funeral Home, Inc. 32 State Seneca Falls with a Memorial service following at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Spring Brook Cemetery.

She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Gayle was born in Harrisburg, Pa. the daughter of William Henry Ottemiller and Opal Sommers Ottemiller. Gayle graduated in 1960 from Mynderse Academy in Seneca Falls and received the Curtis Vocational Division Certificate of Achievement Award and Meacham Art Award. She continued her education at Penn Hall in Chambersburg, Pa. She received The Lewis Art Award while attending Penn Hall and her AAS Degree. Gayle also received a B.S. Degree from Utica College of Syracuse University and her M.S. Degree from Syracuse University. She was employed by Central New York Development Services and received a Certificate of Recognition in appreciation for her dedication to persons with development disabilities and their families for more than 25 years of service.
Despite the many medical challenges Gayle faced on a daily basis, her writing career became her life’s ambition after retirement. Her passion for writing grew with inspiration and experience from attending many Christian writers conferences throughout the U.S. Gayle has published magazine articles, poetry and devotions. Her goal of writing a poetry book fulfilled in 2010 when FAITH LIFTS: When Life Lets You Down was published; followed by A PATCHWORK of PROMISES; 30 Devotions for Quilters published in 2015.
Gayle is survived by her brother, Bill (Ann Del Russo) Ottemiller; niece, Lisa Ottemiller; nephew, Warren (Gillian) Ottemiller, Jr.; her great-nephew Scott; cousin, Arnold (Iva) of Clearwater, Fla. and several great-cousins.
