State Police have denied a Freedom of Information Law request to release additional records tied to the investigation of the fatal shooting of Trooper Nicholas Clark back on July 2nd.
The USA Today Network New York branch learned late last month their appeal was formally denied because according to Lieutenant Col. Scott Wilcox it is still an active investigation.
Clark was shot and killed by 43 year old Bradford School Principal Steven Kiley after he responded to a suicidal person in the town of Erwin. Clark died from a buckshot from a 12-gauge shotgun, while Kiley died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He also had a gunshot wound to the chest from officers returning fire.
