In high school football, in a game you heard on WFLR, Dundee downed Lyons, 28-14; and in a game you heard on WAUB, Auburn took down East Syracuse-Minoa, 20-6. Elsewhere, Hannibal hammered Port Byron/Union Springs, 42-12; Penn Yan topped Pal-Mac, 46-25; Mynderse edged Clyde-Savannah, 20-14; and Tri-Towns got by Saint Mary’s, 18-10. IN girls soccer, Gananda edged North Rose-Wolcott, 3-2; Honeoye blanked Geneva, 5-0; Irondequoit eked by Canandaigua, 1-0; Penn Yan bounced Bloomfield, 2-0; and Red Jacket tripped up Romulus, 2-1.
On the boys’ side, Penfield doubled up Victor, 4-2; Williamson romped over Red Creek, 11-2; and Canandaigua and Irondequoit played to a 1-1 draw.
In MLB, the Yankees dropped Baltimore, 10-8; while the Mets picked up a 4-2 win over Washington. Both series continue at 4:05 this afternoon.
