Auburn City Council on Thursday voted unanimously to pay the Downtown Business Improvement District $90 thousand to operate the Equal Rights Heritage Center.
Speaking on Friday’s Finger Lakes Morning News, City Clerk Chuck Mason explained how the funds will be used.
The BID board of directors is expected to vote on the agreement on Tuesday. Once it is approved BID Executive Director Stephanie DeVito will oversee operations at the center in addition to her role with the BID.
The center is on schedule for the planned opening in late October.
