Lois was born on March 26, 1923 in Wellsboro, Pa., a daughter of the late Frank B. and Katherine (Batt) Hall. Her family lived in Corning, and upon completion of high school, she worked at NY Telephone Company. On August 8, 1942, she married a young soldier, James R. Caward, and their lifelong military career started. They lived throughout the world, and made Interlaken their home in the early 1970’s.
Lois was a social butterfly who had a wonderful gift of gab. Her smile and laughter were contagious. Everyone who met her fell in love with her amazing sense of humor. Lois had a passion for jewelry and animals. She enjoyed a good book but most of all she enjoyed her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed immensely by all that knew and loved her.
Lois is survived by her son, Kevin Caward of Auburn; her adoring granddaughter, Heather (George Dailey) Caward of Geneva; a sister-in-law, Jean Hall of Maryland; nieces and nephews; and so many loving friends who became her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Jim Caward in 2010; her loving daughter, Sherry Caward of Alexandria, Va. in 2017; her daughter in law, Elaine Caward of Auburn, N.Y. in 1989; her sister, Thelma Hollenbeck; and brother, Don Hall.
