Congressman Tom Reed made a stop on Keuka Lake Wednesday morning to join with the Keuka Lake Association on a water sampling expedition to learn more about the invasive species affecting the water quality in the Finger Lakes. He says monitoring the lakes quality is very important not only for quality of life, but for our economy as well.
Reed says funding from the Great Lakes Watershed Initiative allows the Association to collect water samples monthly.
Reed added the issues impacting the Finger Lakes and Great Lakes is why he worked to ensure a 9-HUNDRED percent increase in funding for Restoration Initiative from President Trump’s proposed budget, from 30-MILLION to 300-MILLION dollars. Mark Morris, of Keuka Lake Association said “We at Keuka Lake Association really appreciate Tom taking the initiative to see what we are doing here and know we can count on him to come back with federal and state aid to deal with these issues.”
